IMPORTANT NOTICE
MS SOCIETY – CITIZEN’S ADVICE BUREAU
We are pleased to announce, that due to a legacy kindly donated to the North Staffs. Branch we have negotiated to retain the services of the Citizen’s Advice Bureau for you, our members, and anyone affected by MS.
As from 1st October, 2011 we will have access to a CAB Advisor for one day per week, retained solely for the benefit of people affected by MS. The Advisor will be able to offer advice on DLA applications, benefits, legal advice plus help on any other issues unrelated to MS.
This service will enable you to access advice much quicker than the normal queuing system offered to the public.
Anyone wishing to seek advice from the Bureau should make initial contact with the branch
we will then make contact with the Bureau on your behalf who will, in turn, contact you with an appointment.
Appointments will be held at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Cheapside, Hanley,
Stoke-on-Trent. In the case of extreme difficulties a home visit can be arranged. It is anticipated that three appointments per week will be available.
We do hope that you will fully utilise this new service from the Branch and we look forward to working with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau for everyone’s benefit affected by MS.

Do you have a few spare hours to help the branch? In return we can offer training and support as well an opportunity to have fun, meet new people and develop services for local people affected by MS.
Do you have fundraising ideas or would you like to join a fundraising team? We are looking for enthusiastic people to help the branch raise the vital funds it needs for its work. With just a few hours of your help we could raise more money when collecting, get more collection tins out in the local area or help spread the load at a fundraising event. Or perhaps you could help us to access funds from local trusts and companies. So whether you have a just a few hours available or would like to help on a more regular basis please get in touch.
Or could you provide leadership to the branch? If you have good organisational skills, enjoy working with a team of people and can help us coordinate our work, the chair’s role could be perfect for you.
Or you might have other ideas that you would like to develop and we can support you with this.
Whatever your interests and skills we would be delighted to hear from you and tell you about how you can help support local people affected by MS.
